Is this a camera? Does it record?

No. WOLKIS Vape Guard uses air-quality sensors only — no camera, no microphone, no image processing. It measures TVOC, PM2.5, humidity and temperature. Privacy-first by design. UAE data protection rules and KHDA/ADEK student privacy policies are fully respected.

Will shower steam or perfume trigger false alarms?

No. The Milesight GS601 is purpose-built with anti-water-vapor interference logic and distinguishes vape aerosols from humidity, perfumes and cleaning agents via TVOC + PM signature analysis. Any interference events are logged separately from vape events.

What if a student tries to break or cover the sensor?

Each GS601 has a built-in vibration sensor that detects tampering attempts. Any physical interference triggers an immediate tamper alert with a timestamp — providing evidence of vandalism. The sensor is ceiling-mounted (2.4–3 m height) with 3M industrial adhesive.

How fast is the alert?

Sensors transmit every 1–5 minutes via LoRaWAN. Alerts typically reach admins within 30–60 seconds of a vape event. The platform supports Telegram (instant) and email notifications to multiple recipients.

Does it need WiFi in the bathroom?

No. Vape Guard uses LoRaWAN (868 MHz), which works through walls and requires only one gateway per floor or building. No WiFi, no ethernet to each sensor, no power outlet. Sensor battery life is 2+ years.

How many sensors do we need?

One sensor per bathroom (covers 4×4 m). Larger bathrooms with multiple stalls may require 2 sensors. We assess this during the free site audit. One gateway shares up to 50 sensors.

Can we use this for non-smoking hotel rooms?

Yes. Hotels deploy Vape Guard to enforce no-smoking-fee policies in designated rooms. Guests are notified of monitoring in the room information book. Provides instant, indisputable evidence when imposing cleaning fees.

Is there a trial or pilot program?
